You can pair coupons with extra bucks and a lot of times get items for free! So if you start with one $20 gift card that you only paid $10 for...there is a lot of fun to be had saving :)

Now I've told you about Vistaprint before, but I thought I better tell you again :) Right now they are offering small car door magnets (11x8) for just $4.99 plus free shipping. "Why do I need a car door magnet?!" you ask. Well, because they are awesome? And since it comes with free shipping, it allows you to add many other "free" items to your cart with NO shipping charge as well. Also, I did read that the car door magnets work like dry erase boards! You could put it on your fridge to write on or for your kids to draw on.

Make money off your old clothes!

Do you have clothes in your closet you never wear? Why not try to make a few bucks from them! My husband & I frequent Plato's Closet quite often to see if we can make some money before giving away our clothes. BUT, friend and reader Audrey has also been consigning her clothes and has made over $110 in just 3 months off her old clothes! Here is what she has to say about her experience and how you can get in on this action:

I used to be intimidated by the idea of consigning and thought it would be too time consuming.  But it is actually really fun and easy and and a great way to make some extra cash!

Platos Closet
There are is no items limit and you do not need an appointment.  You can bring in a box or bag of clothes and they will sort through them.  Then after the sort them, they will hand you cash for the items they took.  They are the pickiest of all consignors.  They are looking for brand name clothing that has been in the store within the past 12-18 months (men or women).  Brands I have sold there have been Express, Old Navy, Gap, American Eagle and even some junior brands from Kohls.  The store in Champaign also takes Illini gear. The good thing about here is that they give you cash right away.

Karens Kloset
Karens Kloset takes more clothes, but they are pickier on the presentation.  You must bring them in on a hanger in ready to sell condition.  They will also only take clothes that are in season.  If you have more than 30 items you need to make an appointment,  The first time you go you have to fill out a short card with your information.  They look through your clothes on the spot and assign you a consignor login so you can check your balance online.  I usually take my reject clothes from Platos Closet.  Last time they took about 10 of those items.  This was a month ago and now I have $23 in my account.  You can either use your money there or get the cash anytime.

All Things Kids
You can take up to 30 clothing items here per month.  They will take baby-teen clothes and maternity wear (any season). They also sell toys, baby gear, books, even baby food (unexpired).  When you first consign you will fill out a short information card.  You give them your items and they will sort through them on the spot.  Then you can call anytime for your balance.  You can also either use your money here of get cash anytime.  This is a personal favorite of mine.  I have found some great deals here, and most baby clothes are only worn a few times and so they are in good condition for selling and buying (except for those personal favorites of course:))

Before you take your clothes to donate, might as well stop at these locations to see if you can make any money on them!

Walmart.com currently has this Kodak camera bundle on sale for just $54 (originally $140!). Now is it ever $140? Probably not. BUT, the camera itself is selling on amazon.com for $80 and that's not including the memory card or case! It even has a video function that records in HD. On Walmart.com and Amazon.com it has really good reviews. If you are in need of a new digital camera and don't want to spend a lot, I'd have to say, this right here is the camera for you :)

Babies R Us Diapers & Wipes Deal!

*UPDATE* I did swing by and check this out. There was only one $10 box left in size 2 at my store. If they don't have any of the special value pack boxes left then it's not really worth in the deal, IMHO. I'm guessing most stores are out of them but check it out if you are nearby I suppose.


Now I have never used Babies R Us diapers and I wasn't overly impressed with their wipes (but got them at such a great deal it was worth it).  Keep in mind these are not Pampers (although i personally swear by Luvs) :) The reviews are hovering around a 3 out of 5 and of course some people swear by them. So if your kid never leaks, probably go for it. If you have a newborn, I probably wouldn't stock up too much, but that's just me. I will do a diaper post soon though (sorry Courtney!) :)

I just wanted to post a few good sales from Meijer this week. Not a typical post, BUT a good deal needs mentioning. So here are my favorites of the week! No coupons necessary!
Blackberries on sale 2/$1 again!!! Now is the time to make a pie! :) 
Chicken breasts (family pack) are on sale for $1.77lb (saving .75). It really doesn't get much cheaper and next week chicken is not on sale so stock up :) And then there is the
Boneless pork loin on sale for $1.89lb (saving $1.49)! This is perfect for crock pot pulled pork! 

*A key to saving money on groceries without using coupons or on items that don't have coupons is to buy when they are at their lowest price and stock up! For me, these items are at a stock-up price.

Bath & Body Works Clearance

On top of the crazy clearance happening, they just released a $10 off $30 coupon for this weekend. They have their big candles on clearance for $8 (you have to love christmas scents!) and tons of other soaps and lotions up to 75% off too! One deal I did snag in the store was the mini-candle (1.6oz) and a glass holder for just $1.50! You could get...oh about 20 of those for $20 with the coupon :) It's the only way to get the delicious Marshmallow fireside candle anymore!
